This page is about maintanance and fault finding SER:

• ngrep - grep for the traffic on the servers network interface.

• ethereal - a protocol analyser for Unix and Microsoft.

• phpmyadmin - a fantastic web interface to the mysql database, from www.phpmyadmin.net
  

 

ngrep

ngrep is a "network grep" pplication that you run on the SER Server to monitor all the IP traffic to and from the Unix Server.

Get ngrep from source forge or from this server, and issue these commands:

• tar -xvf ngrep-1.42.tar
• cd ngrep-1.42
• ./configure ; make

To use it type

ngrep sip

And all the traffic that has the string sip in it will be displayed to the terminal. Type "man ngrep" for more information.
